I handle a wide range of high-level defense actions, with a focus on professional liability — including medical malpractice and legal malpractice — and general liability matters, including premises liability, products liability, and municipal liability.On the medical malpractice front, I work with hospitals and health systems, as well as physicians, ambulance companies, physician groups, and EMS providers, defending them against claims of catastrophic claims of injury.I have a variety of experience in general liability cases, including premises liability matters, such as fall-down injuries, for businesses both large and small. I am also experienced in commercial litigation, products liability and dram shop liability. I am also well versed in municipal liability and have a great deal of experience with the attendant immunities and applying them to my clients' advantage.With regard to legal malpractice, I regularly defend both cases involving litigation and transactional claims.Additionally, I provide legal advice to court-appointed Guardians and represent them in Orphans’ Court.I regularly serve as an arbitrator in Lackawanna County and am a regular contributor to the Weber Gallagher Medical Malpractice and General Liability Bulletins. I am also a volunteer attorney with Lackawanna Pro Bono, which provides access to free legal services for those who cannot afford to do so on their own. I am also a member of the Weber Gallagher Pro Bono committee.Starting in 2023, I serve as a member of the Law360 Pennsylvania Advisory Board.A few recent examples of my representative experience include:- Obtained dismissal of a lawsuit on behalf of a non-profit who was alleged to have interfered with a contractor's construction project.- Obtained dismissal of a lawsuit on behalf of an EMS company who was alleged to have caused the death of a patient.-Successfully persuaded a jury to return a defense verdict in favor of two orthopedic surgeons and their practice group after a 5 day trial, where Plaintiff had alleged that the surgeons did not timely diagnose a knee infection following surgery, causing permanent damage. This verdict was affirmed by the Superior Court after briefing and oral argument.
