I jumped into a position with LA Metro shortly after graduating three years ago, and it could not have been a better experience. I had the opportunity to work on various projects and learn about systems engineering, specifically the overhead contact and traction power systems. From there I transitioned to working as a consultant with Hatch LTK (formerly LTK Engineering Services). Since making that change, I have added train control and signaling to my knowledge bank, and I continue to work closely with the folks at LA Metro. Together we are doing big things in Los Angeles. In addition to my technical skills, I bring with me persistence and a positive attitude. I don't know everything, but I know enough to finish what I start, and I strive to keep learning as I go. I was fortunate enough to meet people who have helped me grow in Systems Engineering. I have been given responsibility and chances to step up. I have failed and succeeded, and I understand that failure is part of the process of success. I have worked individually and as part of a team. I know how to communicate with others, and I recognize their value. People are the reason why we do anything. I am excited about what I am doing and the direction my career is headed.
