Christ Follower. Software Engineer and former Finance and Engineering Operations Data Analyst. Passionate about building products cross-functionally and solving problems in unique ways.I had a non-traditional journey to software engineering: I got my start as a Financial Advisory Consultant at Deloitte working on Anti-Money Laundering and eDiscovery projects. I joined Lyft as a Financial Data Analyst and helped them go public as the first rideshare company to do so with the tools I created in SQL and Excel for global tax filing, accounting month-end close, and audit and SEC obligations. I built the 2019 budget for Lyft's autonomous vehicle operations and assisted its acquisition by Toyota's Woven. I became a Software Engineer through Lyft's Apprenticeship program and worked on various teams in Growth, bringing riders and drivers to the platform through various incentives like coupons and points partnerships with companies like Delta Airlines. The last team I worked on, Communications Platform, was an event-based messaging platform through which all of Lyft's teams used for their communication campaigns with customers. There, I built various front- and back-end features and automated processes with Python and React. I reduced latency on my team's services and improved oncall by implementing Redis caches and adaptive concurrency. I am most proud of a project I led, Driver Content Relevance Engine (Driver CRE), which got drivers back driving without expenditure once COVID restrictions eased. I leveraged a Data Science team's machine learning algorithm that chose which of Marketing's 20+ message templates would be the most effective to send a driver in real time. Across 1M+ drivers, this led to a 1% increase in driver hours, sessions, and retention. For this Driver CRE project, I worked cross functionally with Data Science, Marketing, and various other engineering teams like Memberships and Driver Lifecycle, who owned the data the personalized messages were based on. Driver CRE is still being used today and has been extended for other use cases such as rider growth.I recently joined Netflix's MarTech team where I create tech to power more efficient and connected Marketing and Publicity workflows that spark and amplify convos fueling fandom at scale. I'm excited to grow as an individual contributor and aspire to lead teams and learn new languages and tech.
