BUSINESSRyan Seltzer is the Founder and Owner of Safety in Numbers, a consulting firm providing statistical analysis and research methodology services across various disciplines. Dr. Seltzer provides end-to-end research services including design for research and data collection, grant proposal writing, analysis, write-up, and formal presentation and publication of results. Documentation for clinical trials and submission to regulatory agencies are also included.Ryan Seltzer founded Amptimum with Craig Smith in 2020. Their mission is to unleash the clinical skill set of allied health professionals by developing documentation mastery, patient management processes, and robust analytics.WORKRyan Seltzer works in the areas of statistics, biomedical, and public health research, as well as in clinical trials and program evaluation. These efforts provide the foundation on which to develop the most effective methodological and analytical techniques. Dr. Seltzer employs both artificial intelligence and traditional statistics to reveal meaningful patterns in data and interprets results to help stakeholders make incisive decisions to improve processes, clinical practices, and business profits. Dr. Seltzer also designs data collection and decision support software interfaces to improve the ease and standardization of data collection and to help clinicians make real time decisions that leverage their experience with data analytics. These software interfaces are built with behavior change strategies to make implementation and integration of these tools easier into the user’s daily workflow. Finally, Dr. Seltzer works in leadership and visionary roles.AWARDSRyan Seltzer received the 2019 Olympus Best Innovative Paper Award issued by the Endourological Society for the paper entitled “The Prediction of Treatment Success and Complication of Shockwave Lithotripsy Using Artificial Intelligence.”Dr. Seltzer was also the Principal Investigator of the Independent Professional Education Grant for the project entitled “Increased Utilization of Quitline Services with Pharmacist Assistance in Integrated Health Settings.”RESEARCHRyan Seltzer conducts and publishes research as a statistician across numerous disciplines including biomedical sciences, public health, clinical trials, and social sciences. His original research is in the area of methodology and how to conceptualize ecosystems of interrelated variables to adequately capture unique variance. Dr. Seltzer regularly presents his research at national and international conferences.
