Develop research agendas, research/program proposals and projects, and supervision of all aspects of research projects’ implementation.

Manage organizational change efforts and reform for corrections departments, departments of juvenile justice and community-based organizations to enhance their services by incorporating strength-based, family-focused tools and methods. This includes engaging and contracting clients; evaluating existing reform efforts; training staff; providing technical assistance; assessing client needs; reviewing forms and case management practices or protocols; producing reports and articles; and ensuring programmatic and financial compliance with funding contracts. Create curricula for an adult and juvenile corrections and community corrections, as well as community based organizations. Trained over 1,000 professionals and provided extensive technical assistance on strength-based, family-focused tools and methods. Support the growth of the program through grant writing ($350,000 to date).

Worked directly with corrections departments, juvenile justice agencies, and faith- and community-based organizations to support them in adopting family-focused and strength-based approaches. Project work included adapting the Relational Inquiry Tool for juvenile justice populations as well as working with community-based organizations on gang-involved youth.

Taught introductory and advanced courses in women's studies with a focus on intersectionality (intersecting socially constructed identitites such as race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, nationality).

Fundraised for annual conference, maintained $10,000 budget, organized promotional/marketing events, created press releases, coordinated vendors and volunteers for events. Identified, secured and arranged prominent keynote speakers which included: poet Sonya Renee, author and performance artist Rhodessa Jones and AIDS activist, Tim’m West.

Conducted outreach with male, female and transgender street-based sex workers distributing condoms, safety information, clothing, food and HIV prevention materials. Formulated and carried out focus groups and surveys for a report on the state of sex workers’ experiences with the criminal or juvenile justice system.
