The CCEB celebrated its 25th anniversary as an independent not-for-profit corporation on February 14, 2016. The Canadian Chiropractic Association created an education committee in 1954 and from that the National Examining Board in 1962. The first national exams were held in 1963. The Canadian Chiropractic Association created an education committee in 1954 and from that the National Examining Board in 1962. The first national exams were held in 1963. In 1966, the name was changed to the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board. We are grateful to the CCA for nurturing the examining board through to self-sustaining maturity in 1991.On February 14, 1991, the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board was registered under the Canada Corporations Act. That registration was continued in 2014 under the new Canada Not For Profit Corporations Act.The CCEB as an organization, and the exams, have evolved significantly over that time and they continue to evolve to keep pace with current governance norms, psychometric standards, and legal defensibility.The exam blueprints are based on a national job analysis created and completed by field practitioners. It is members of the chiropractic community who write the exam items, approve the individual exams, and set the pass scores. These subject matter experts provide their knowledge and experience to the ongoing review and development of the examinations.
