Ranger is a seed-stage startup focused on empowering insurance agents with better tech. We built an innovative sales-on-rails platform for personal-lines agencies that automates customer intelligence and enables efficient, consultative selling that increases premium-per-customer.I recruited and led our engineering and product design team, led the rapid ground-up build of our product, helped navigate a significant business pivot, selected and contracted key vendors, and managed all marketing, sales, and other tech platforms used by our insurance operations.

At M1, I joined as employee #9 and helped build a unicorn fintech startup from the ground up. I led the Product department for over 6 years, responsible for product management, design, and engineering for our native iOS app, native Android app, React web app, and Node.js product backend. Starting at zero, I eventually hired and led an organization of 50+ engineers, designers, PMs, and managers.Under my leadership as VP of Product, we launched the product, achieved product-market fit, earned 4.5+ star ratings in both app stores, expanded into multiple new business lines, raised over $300M, and scaled to serve half a million customers managing over $6B in assets on the platform. As M1 continued to grow, I handed responsibility for product management and design to a new, seasoned CPO and focused my responsibility on leading the Product Engineering organization.I was also a significant hands-on contributor at M1, as the architect and original engineer behind the GraphQL product API that powers M1's apps, built with Node.js. I led M1's early adoption of GraphQL in 2015, built core product functionality, and developed custom internal frameworks on top of graphql-js to meet M1's needs as the product and team scaled.

Client-facing technical advisor, engineering team leader, and full-stack developer on several large-scale software implementation programs, including: Ford's first connected vehicle app; GM's brand websites for Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, and Buick; an investment analysis application for Northern Trust bank; and a custom touchscreen ticketing kiosk for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. (Acquity Group was acquired by Accenture in 2013.)
