Director Of Communications
CurrentResponsible for all aspects of communication within the JobsOhio organization, including developing the strategy, overseeing message development, and working cross-functionally across the marketing team to deploy and amplify the message.Responsibilities include:-Develop a clear strategy and editorial voice for JobsOhio, customized to respective platforms where applicable.-Provide strategic leadership, focusing on delivering captivating, audience-appropriate content for JobsOhio across multiple platforms.-Lead production of high-quality, reputation-driving content across various platforms and media outlets.-Collaborate with the cross-functional marketing team on holistic content strategies.-Develop and refine "core" messages to ensure organizational consistency with the ability to take complex programs/economic development initiatives and distill information into simple, clear, external communications.-Responsible for overseeing all communications – development of key messages, talking points, articles, speeches, quotes, press kits, press releases, and other content initiatives. Identify and develop compelling storylines that are told via multiple channels; reputation management, voice of authority, media relations, crisis/issue management.Detect public relations issues as they emerge and address them directly and swiftly. Oversee crisis operations and works to repair or prevent damaged reputation after adverse incidents have occurred. Act as a media spokesperson and address questions and complaints. Maintain an always-current list of JobsOhio key contacts, advocates, and media contacts.Share/seed news stories that build Ohio for business in national media and the mission and results of JobsOhio within the state.Participate in special events where the media may be present, including groundbreakings, board meetings, and events.Manage public relations and creative agencies, including budget development, results and measurement, and day-to-day oversight.
