About Ryan Stokes, P.L.Eng.
Senior Designer and Technical Staff Manager of the BC Highways Group with ISL Engineering out of the Langley office.For the past 27 years, I've been working in the private sector for Engineering Consulting firms. I have been involved in a wide variety of projects from small traffic studies to large municipal transportation plans and since 2013 have focused on detailed design and construction of municipal and highway projects. A variety of projects include urban intersection upgrades, active transportation, transit facilities, urban and rural highways including interchanges, and provincial rest areas. I have the analytical skills to understand complex projects and make informed decisions as well as the ability to present information to multiple stakeholder groups. My approach is enhanced and supported by excellent communications and effective collaboration.Although primarily focused in the transportation engineering sector, I’ve dedicated many years to the Lions Clubs International service organization where I have gained experience in project management, collaborating with stakeholders, and adult learning characteristics through trainings and as an instructor. The BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities offered me a unique opportunity, as a director for the past 6 years, to observe and be a part of the workings of a large charitable organization.
