It is a passionate advocate for its Members, including Sony Music Canada, Universal Music Canada, and Warner Music Canada, as well as their partners - the artists. As Director of Legal Affairs, I was a legal strategist with a wide array of responsibilities. As part of my day, I: provided legal oversight in the development and execution of Music Canada's federal government relations projects; identified and implemented legal strategies for key legislative objectives that sought to protect/improve the value of music, and the livelihood of those who create it; oversaw and managed external legal counsel; and, collaborated with like-minded organizations and stakeholders to improve the overall music ecosystem.
