I am a student in my second year of the Humber Sport Management Program who has had agreat interest in sport all my life. This love of sports came from my family, who I would watch games on television with and go to games beginning from a young age. From those early points on, I have always been a fan and knew that one day I wanted to work in sports. Sports and teams have been a major part of my life for a long time, from soccer when I was little, to ball hockey all the way through my teen years, to a little bit of curling mixed in for good measure. Each sport teaches different lessons of teamwork and leadership and how to apply that both in sport, and everyday life.I am learning to become a professional in the sporting industry, gaining an education to acquire the knowledge, tools, connections, and skills to succeed in the industry of sport. This success in the sporting industry would hopefully drive the industry forward, either in my own little pocket of it, or better yet, the industry as a whole. Driving the sporting industry forward matters because sport is an industry on the scale that affects nearly everybody even when it may not be obvious at a glance. The sporting industry has an effect on those who play professionally, those who play recreationally, or even those who only buy a pair of running shoes, and anyone in between. The sporting industry affects everyone and the industry being driven forward is for the betterment of everyone that is affected.
