As research manager for the Urban Environmental and Social Inclusion Index, I helped establish novel metrics for equity in access to environmental quality in cities. In the inaugural 2017 report, we found that, contrary to similar quantitative indexes of environmental performance, wealthier cities often perform worse in terms of equitable distribution of environmental goods and bads. I helped the principal investigator operationalize environmental justice concepts into indicators, and led student researchers to build a database we could use to pilot the index in 30 cities. We used data science techniques that allowed the project to quickly incorporate new cities in subsequent volumes.

I contribute to the implementation of community development projects, internationally and domestically, with my diverse skill set in data collection and analysis, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, public participation/civic engagement, and design thinking.

I coordinated an evaluation of USAID's off grid energy portfolio and managed field data collection in Tanzania. The evaluation overall included a desk review for all projects in the portfolio and looked closely at approximately 10 projects total in Tanzania, Brazil and India. We researched each country context and the mode of delivery to understand the extent to which energy projects were sustained and under what conditions.I managed two software development projects for the State Department - both to help manage grants from pre-award stage through close-out. This requires excellent communication skills to manage expectations and compliance with multiple contract stakeholders. I also helped explain the implications of technical decisions to non-technical colleagues.

I developed a web application for agricultural development projects with a team of three developers. My role required skills in design, GIS, Drupal, Leaflet.js, and quasi-experimental research methods.
