Ryan’s energy development, permitting, financing, and construction planning experience covers the full range of renewable and conventional energy technologies, including solar PV, wind, hydro, natural gas, landfill gas, waste gas, and co-generation projects as well as energy storage, energy recovery, carbon utilization, and hydrogen production. Ryan led Canadian Solar's development activities in Canada, including a cross-country expansion and the development of more than 400 MW of solar and PV+ storage projects. He served as the first Director, Project Development for Greengate Power Corporation. At Greengate he led the development and pre-construction planning for a multi-gigawatt portfolio, including the largest wind power assets in Alberta totaling approximately C$1 billion. He also supported the largest ever US-Canada cross-boarder REC transaction. Ryan served as the Vice Chair of The Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) and subsequently as a board member of the newly-merged Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA). His present focus is on improving the quality of Indigenous infrastructure nationwide and advancing transformative transportation projects including on-the-go ultra-fast electric vehicle charging as well as TransPod Inc.'s Alberta Hyperloop Project, set to link Alberta's major centers at ultra-high speeds.Ryan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering with distinction and a Master of Business Administration degree. For more than 20 years, Ryan was a registered professional engineer in Alberta.
