As the Director of Bands for Elkins High School, I coordinate and direct the entire band program at three ability levels. I developed a scope and sequence plan for my band program that guides learners through 7 years of study. I have a deep passion for encouraging student achievement, measuring achievement using assessment data, utilizing technology to enhance learning, leadership development, and designing comprehensive curriculum plans for the different classes I teach.My success as a program director is proven through our continued growth in numbers and our success at adjudicated performances, including superior ratings at the state contest level. I've also had the honor of helping several students attain music scholarships at the collegiate level, a further testament to the success of my teaching and curriculum design. The program has achieved record participation numbers and contest scores under my direction.
