This includes configuration and maintenance of Cisco and Juniper network switches and routers, Avaya Telecommunications equipment, and a variate of Dell server and EMC storage solutions. The Roseburg Forest Products network includes 2 data center facilities and approximately 12 major and 3 minor remote locations. Each site is connected to a MPLS network with the 2 data centers operating as redundant hub locations. At the main data center I help maintain several Juniper SSG 550 firewalls as well as a Juniper MAG 2600 SSL VPN appliance. The data center core network runs on a Cisco Nexus 7009 with several Nexus 2k top of rack switches and the MPLS core routers are ASR 1001's. -

Network EngineerRio Networks Aug 2007 - Aug 2011My responsibilities included setting up and maintaining a hosted VOIP service using both Asterisk and Broadsoft as application servers. This included programming Lucent LCS 5010 class 5 soft switches to integrate with these hosted VOIP services. Part of this deployment also included the installation and configuration of an Audiocodes nCite 1000 SBC to serve as a primary VOIP gateway for customer PBX’s and IP phones.My duties also included extensive work deploying and configuring Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls in an ISP environment. This entailed setting up switch ports, VLANS, and IP routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF to link ISP equipment and customers to our upstream provides. This also included setting up and maintaining end to end QoS for all data connection using our host VOIP services. I was also part of the team charged with migrating from an older Cisco based network to a new MPLS core network running on the Alcatel Lucent service router platform. I deployed and configure Alcatel 7750 and 7705 service routers as well as the 7210 service switches. During this upgrade I was also charged with replacing all of our DSLAM’s with the Adtran TA5000 multi-service access platform with a combination of E.SHDSL and ADSL2+ access cards. -

Maintained a combination of 15 Macintosh and 5 Windows servers running a variaty of Pre-press, Editorial and Ad Production applications. Windows servers were running Active Directory/Exchange and the Macintosh servers were running applications such as Newsedit Pro IQue, Panther RIP, and basic file and print sharing. Network consisted of 3 remote locations connected via Cisco PIX firewalls, each site also had a local File server and about 5 to 10 workstations.

This included helping in the migration of a Windows NT 4.0 Domain to a Windows 2000 Active Directory Domain.
