Serve within the Loveland Water & Power Department as a water resource engineer helping manage, protect, and expand the City's water supply and water rights portfolio. Perform water rights accounting, including augmentation and water lease agreements, for the City's water operations along the Big Thompson River and Little Thompson River basins.

I have started my own limited liability company called HydroGeo Resources, PLLC and in addition to my full-time job with the City of Loveland, I work part-time in the evenings and weekends as a contracting consultant . Main clients last year were Ayres Associates, Boxelder Basin Regional Stormwater Authority, and Tucson Water Company. The contract work has entailed completing water right investigations, GIS mapping efforts in support of water rights and dam failure inundation areas, updating and revising augmentation and substitute water supply plan accounting, completing annual projections for decreed augmentation plans, a high-capacity detention pond groundwater impact investigation, and assisting with government construction permitting requirements.

Conducted water right investigations, water budget and balance accounting, and historical consumptive use modeling. Clients located in Northern Front Range and the San Luis Valley of Colorado.Performed spatial analysis in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and utilized various groundwater depletion models (e.g. IDS AWAS) and crop consumptive use models (e.g. IDSCU and StateCU). Completed a detailed accounting form for Kyger Reservoir near Windsor and obtained approval of the form from the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Maintained the monthly scheduling and water balance model, including climate contributing factors, for Kyger Reservoir and other lined and un-lined water storage operations. Wrote historical consumptive use analysis reports, augmentation plans, and substitute water supply plans. Provided technical insight on site hydrology and hydrogeology. Assisted with Municipal Water Efficiency Plans and Drought Management Plans.

Contracting work for a small municipality and Dude Ranch in Colorado performing water right analysis. Maintained monthly Substitute Water Supply Plan accounting and yearly water augmentation and compliance needs according to the requirements of the Colorado State Engineers Office. Helped obtain a decreed augmentation plan and complete annual accounting projections.

Advanced from Engineer II, to Project Engineer, then to delegating work as acting Project Lead within two years. Wrote historical use analysis reports, augmentation and substitute water supply plans. Analyzed water rights with GIS tools and software produced by IDS Group at CSU. Designed augmentation ponds and stage/flow measuring devices. Conducted hydrogeologic investigations and well installations for groundwater development projects at industrial plants and subdivisions. Conducted groundwater model analysis for compliance with Colorado Department of Health regulations for sensitive receptors. Provided technical assistance for aquifer study to produce groundwater atlas and associated interactive GIS for Laramie County, Wyoming. Construction manager for an industrial water supply pump house and assisted with a land development project in Casper, Wyoming. Member of GIS Committee to produce company GIS standards manual and database. Taught course in water right analysis and took courses in highway design, HEC-RAS, River Tools, AutoCAD 2009 LD and Civil 3D.

Provided technical assistance for LIRF study for the City of Aurora LIRF study. Installed and developed piezometers for aquifer tests. Monitored and reported for 90-day leak tests of lined gravel pits according to Colorado’s “State Engineer Guidelines for Lining Criteria for Gravel Pits.” Performed pit de-watering model analysis using Visual MODFLOW.

Directed environmental hydrogeologic investigations for leaking UST sites at Olympic Oil Company facilities utilizing direct push, cone penetration testing (cpt), and hollow stem augers for soil, groundwater, and soil-gas sampling activities. Installed and developed monitoring wells, and assisted with pump tests. Wrote environmental site assessments (Phase I ESAs), site closure requests, remedial investigations (Phase II RIs), and aspects of remedial action (RA) reports. Completed SVE and ozone sparging pilot tests for petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated groundwater sites and maintained remediation systems. Resigned from TEC Accutite to pursue Master's degree in Civil Engineering at CSU.

Conducted Phase I ESAs and environmental hydrogeologic investigations for Hertz Rental Cars, Mission Linen, and clients throughout the West Coast Region. Completed monitoring well installations, development and sampling of wells, groundwater contouring maps, geologic cross-sections, and contaminant plume maps (isoconcentration maps). Used Gregg Drilling and Vironex as drilling subcontractors for several projects and used Regenesis ORC materials at petroleum hydrocarbon impacted sites. Completed pilot test and assisted with design of soil vapor extraction and groundwater air-sparging remediation system in Sebastopol, California. Wrote aspects of NAVY CLEAN reports and a Record of Decision Report (ROD). Conducted soil and groundwater sampling events at Mass Military Reserve in Cape Code, which required a temporary security clearance.
