Thermal Control - ASTE 552

• Test bi-propellant GOX and RP-1 725 psi chamber pressure twin rocket engines. • Perform cold flow tests, orifice tests, proof and leak tests leading up to static hot fire test at Mojave Desert, CA. Collect testing data via LabView and conduct analysis for optimization for subsequent firing.• Responsible for implementing safety standards by designing a purge system for the test stand to remove excess propellant from combustion chamber post static hot fire. • Hands on experience with feed system assembly, ox manifold set up, valve sizing, engine assembly and machining.• Designed a new coaxial swirl injector for our next generation engine.

• Materials Engineering - Review strain testing of metals and composites such as Inconel 625, 718 and aluminum alloys for aircraft parts for United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTC)• Create a company wide database for strain testing results. • Develop International Trade Compliance (ITC) procedures for facility access and Export Control• Review/ Identify “Material of Concern” compounds in ASTM and AMS specifications for use in aircraft parts in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency standards.
