The topic of my thesis research is model-guided extremum-seeking control for use of mechanical ventilators. Please see my graduate school description under the education section for more information on the project.

Manage a team of undergraduate students competing in the 2020 ESRA IREC in the 30k COTS category. Design lead for the variable braking system which will allow rocket to perfectly reach an apogee of 30 thousand feet.

First Two OS Terms: Worked with Dr. Jeff Defoe helping complete his 3-D printed single stage axial flow compressor that was to be used as lab equipment for the university. Was tasked with establishing communication between the motor and a laptop via a Teco Westinghouse A510 Inverter.Learned how to write/create basic programs in NI LabView, how communication works via RS485 using the Modbus RTU protocol, and how to troubleshoot problems.3rd OS Term:Worked with one of Dr. Andrzej Sobiesiak's Master students to test the effect of a ceramic coating that was made by another proffesor at the university.Another OS student and I were tasked with taking apart the engine of a Honda CBR300F to measure the length of its connecting rod to get and accurate measurement of displacement. We were also tasked with creating a preliminary design for the test stand where the engine would be connected with a dynamometer.4th Term:Worked with Dr. Jeff Defoe on designing a stand to test the performance of various airfoils. Worked as part of a team of 4 OS students to complete the full design of the stand. The test stand is to be used as lab equipment for the university and was to be attached to the end of a wind tunnel where the loading and angle of attack of the specific airfoil would be recorded.5th Term:Worked on the same project as my fourth term; however, I worked on it individually this term. Finished designing the entire test stand in CATIA, created a bill of materials, and performed loading analysis on the test stand components by estimating the maximum lift that would be achieved by a student-created wing.6th Term:Due to COVID-19, not a lot of research projects were happening, but I was lucky enough to edit a MSc Candidate's thesis paper who's advisor was Dr. Nick Eaves. In editing the thesis paper, I gained knowledge on the effect of temperature and chemical mechanism on soot formation in an Ethylene-air laminar Coflow diffusion flame.

Plant Incoming Quality Resident Engineer for Chassis 1, 5, 6, and Final Car. Reacted to material quality issues on the assembly line and ensured the quality of the products from the suppliers.Worked with suppliers and Plant Supplier Quality to root cause issues with various products, improve the reliability of their processes, and to improve the quality of their products. Used many WCM tools such as Occurrence and Release, Poke Yoke, and advanced 5W1H in root causing supplier quality issues.Worked with suppliers, corporate plant supplier quality, and engineering in standardizing suppliers processes and creating BestStandards.Learned to manage a small team in a unionized environment. Worked with engineering, management, and the assembly workers to improve the process of detecting and documenting supplier issues in the plant.

Worked with the body resident engineering group on supporting any quality issues seen on the assembly line, in the customer satisfaction audit, and in warranty claims. Mostly dealt with quality issues regarding hard and soft interior trim pieces, exterior ornamentations, engine cooling, and HVAC.Learned how to use various WCM methodologies to assist in problem solving and root causing. Worked with engineering, and cross functional teams to improve the overall quality of the products.
