Ryan Werder is the Executive Director for Energy Action Fund (EAF), which builds political power for climate action across the country. EAF is the c4 sister organization to Energy Foundation, where Ryan also serves as a Senior Advisor supporting campaign design and strategy development that spans program areas. Prior to leading EAF, Ryan opened EF’s Midwest office in 2013 and subsequently led the region through nine years of coalition building and policy advancement alongside an extraordinary network of advocates and funding partners. Over that time, the EF Midwest Team grew from two people to a crew of expert campaigners, policy leaders, and associates who support a broad and diverse network of grantees.Before joining EF, Ryan served as the Deputy Director of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, where he helped guide the organization to four-fold growth and established LCV's family of organizations as a powerful voice in statewide politics and policy. While there, he led efforts to support officials on both sides of the aisle to build bipartisan agreement on conservation and energy initiatives. Ryan had the good fortune to find his first job out of college with Congressman John D. Dingell, the longest-serving member of Congress. Ryan learned from him while serving as Field Representative in the Downriver region near Detroit, focusing on work ranging from supporting constituents in foreclosure at the height the housing crisis to helping the Congressman build the first international wildlife refuge in North America.Ryan earned his Political Science degree from the University of Michigan.
