I believe that design is one of the most important aspects of our modern world. Its all around us, from the screen you're looking at or the roof over your head. When it comes to architecture, design is even more crucial. because not only do we impact the end user of whatever structure we design, but we impact the overall community, the overall city, and even the entire planet. I think that we in the architectural field hold a unique responsibility in this respect, since we end up effecting so many people directly or indirectly. We are living in a crucial time where climate change is becoming the world's dominant issue. It is my long term goal to use my career to work on projects that utilize more energy efficient systems, and consider the long term impact that our designs can have. I believe that over the next couple of decades, we are going to see a huge rapid shift towards green buildings. As an architect technologist I would definitely like to take a part in this transition in whatever way possible.
