I'm the founding editor and owner/publisher, of the new, independent publication for backpackers and people who sleep in the dirt. I'm handling everything from editing and design, to running the website, selling ads, and sliding mags in envelopes. I raised nearly $25,000 on Kickstarter to launch the Magazine, which printed its first issue in February 2022.

I am a primarily outdoor/adventure and environmental freelancer. I have pitched and written features and news stories on deadline, have been published online and in print for Backpacker Magazine, Outside Online, Rock and Ice, High Country News, 5280 Magazine, the Denver Post, SKI Magazine, Uncommon Path, Outside Business Journal, and more. Responsible for the company’s blog and news site, goEast (goeast.ems.com). Duties include planning content, working with marketing managers to determine content needs, developing story ideas, communicating with internal and external writers, managing payment, editing content, uploading and publishing content to WordPress and managing the day-to-day of the website.

Managed the company's internal MyAdventures program to receive content from employees for use on social media and elsewhere. Marketed the campaign to employees, communicated with stores, received and managed submissions, help choose winners and facilitated payment. Also ran the company's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Wrote two articles per week covering breaking news at URI, local and campus affairs, etc., with a focus on investigative and research-intensive stories. Also managed and advised the news staff, assigned stories, edited the section’s copy and assisted with the weekly production of the campus newspaper. Completely redesigned and built RhodyCigar.com (HTML, CSS, WordPress experience) and was responsible for uploading weekly content and managing the website.

Provide hardware and software technical support for the department of Enrollment Services staff; Deploy, maintain and support desktop computers, printers, related hardware and software; Assist with the maintenance of the Enrollment Services website and Intranet.
