Overhead Surveying and Imaging began with aerial photography and pivoted to geospatial mapping and surveying in the forestry sector. Overhead performed at the forefront leveraging technologies such as heavy-lift commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's) and lightweight LiDAR systems combined with photogrammetry for accurate results. These systems combined produce accurate survey data including tree health, biometric density, water runoff mapping, ideal haulage paths and even overall growth rates and cubic meterage of stock at any one time.Using UAV's provides a cost effective solution for projects where airborne LiDAR would be prohibitively expensive or where repeat surveys are needed to monitor environmental conditions or provide situational analysis on a on an ongoing basis.
