Ryan Windsor currently serves as the Mayor of Central Saanich, a role he has held for the past decade after previously serving as a councillor. A resident of Central Saanich for over 16 years, Ryan is married to Helen, with whom he has two children born on the Saanich Peninsula. Alongside his municipal career, Ryan was involved in his family’s business, DeVine Winery and Distillery, contributing to its growth as a local agri-tourism destination.Living and working within the community has allowed Ryan to understand the needs of local families and collaborate with the Municipal Council and neighbouring administrations to improve the natural and built assets vital for community prosperity. Throughout his tenure as Mayor, Ryan has also held positions such as Chair of the Central Saanich Police Board, Director for the District of Central Saanich on the Capital Regional District board, and Commissioner on various commissions overseeing key facilities and services.Under Ryan’s leadership, notable projects have been executed, including the replacement of the wastewater system in Brentwood Bay and W̱JOȽEȽP First Nation, as well as the construction of a traffic overpass connecting Highway 17 to Keating Cross Road. Fiscal responsibility has been a cornerstone of his administration, evident in the balanced taxation approach and the community’s low Crime Severity Index ranking and the top economic resilience recognition by BC Business magazine for 2024.Besides his political roles, Ryan has actively volunteered with organizations like the Peninsula Streams Society, Growing Young Farmers Society, and the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank. He values community initiatives that strengthen the neighbourhood and is committed to supporting local businesses and residents in the region. During the 2019 election, he stood as a Liberal candidate for the riding of Saanich Gulf Islands. Though the experience was valuable, he realized the Liberal Party was not a good fit for him and his belief in supporting hardworking people within the local business community. In the wake of his refusal to run for the 2021 election, Ryan was encouraged by many community supporters and family members to seek nomination for the Conservative Party of Canada at the next election again in Saanich Gulf Islands. He is the only candidate with the energy, enthusiasm, and local experience necessary to win Saanich Gulf Islands in support of Pierre Poilievre as our next Prime Minister, leading a common sense Conservative government.
