CurrentRyan is the Founder and leader at Marmoset: a global music-tech company, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, where he leads vision, strategy and workplace culture.A fiery advocate of creators, Ryan gave a TED Talk about "leading creatives amidst a modern landscape" and has given talks on music licensing, workplace culture, DEI and leadership at SXSW, CMJ Music Festival, TechFestNW, MusicFestNW, NextCon, The Hawaii Songwriting Festival, University of Montana, Lewis & Clark College, UC Riverside, Southern Oregon University, and more.An Oregon native, Ryan first realized his passion for music as a College Radio DJ at his alma mater, Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Since then, he's worked in strategy roles in the creative arena, while advising record labels and artists like The Dandy Warhols.A member of The Guild of Music Supervisors and having served on the Board of Governors for The Recording Academy (The Grammys), Ryan is active in the Portland business community and completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School, MIT and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.Under Ryan's leadership, Marmoset became the first (and only) certified B Corp in their industry, the first to give 10% of profits to community orgs, and the only company brave enough to publish an annual transparency report.
