About Ryan Ting
I'm interested in Engineering, Math, Physics, and Political Science.I am considering becoming an Engineer to use math and physics to create real products and positive change. I am currently learning robotics in my school's Programming Club, where I have 3D modeled using Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD.In Math and Physics, I succeed academically: 5/5s on AP Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Physics 1, Physics 2, and am currently taking Post-AP Multivariable Calculus. I also run the math clubs for my combined High School and Middle School, where we practice problem solving for difficult tests like the AMC. Developing other students' math skills not only lets me give back to my school but also helps me develop my own.I am invested in my local government, having served on Representative Allister Chang's Literacy Advisory Board (https://osse.dc.gov/literacytaskforce) and being a Student Representative on the DC State Board of Education. I am the DC YMCA Youth and Government 2024–2025 Youth Mayor because I am passionate about improving my community. As Youth Mayor, I have the responsibility of leading our over one hundred delegates from all 8 wards as they practice Bill-Writing and Mock Trial as well as pitch their ideas to policy makers. Sboe Student Representative
Current- The DC State Board of Education appoints four Student Representatives to serve alongside the elected Representatives. While we do not vote to codify legislation, we vote in committees, debate during official meetings.
