After doubling the number of show medals achived by Sainsbury's Wines within four years, whilst actually reducing the numbers of entries made, I left the company to focus on childraising and maturing my family's wine business. I moved to Edinburgh to complete my Master's degree in Brewing and Distilling, as a complement to my Winemaking. This year I complete this qualification, and my child starts schooling, thus I am seeking a compelling, career-peak challenge with scope and scale.

Our farm in Margaret River has been owned by our family for six generations, with my great great grandfather Thomas Carter first documenting planting grapevines in 1880, one of the earliest recordings of winegrowing in the region. In 2007 I launched our own label, starting with Carter Margaret River Chardonnay, and soon added our Margaret River Cabernet. It is sold in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

Unique experience in English vineyard and wine brand initiation, and several international clients for production and logistics projects. Providing insight and direction in all aspects of wine business management - viticulture, oenology, branding, promotion and distribution.

Lead a team of twelve directly reporting staff in revising viticulture, winemaking, and marketing, ultimately rebranding Western Australia's leading Family Owned winery.

The comprehensive refurbishment and reengineering of the Napa Valley's first post-prohibition winery.

Daily direction of winemaking to two shifts covering 24 hour operations, including a complete overhaul and re-establishment of winery recordkeeping and administration.

A full vintage of complete involvement in all aspects of this highly complex winery, spanning harvest planning, winemaking, oak purchase, assemblage, bottling, and staff supervision. Unique experience in pressing and blending Vin Santo, and production of olive oil in parallel with winemaking.

A permanent role covering four very challenging and rewarding years.
