As an advocate for Alternatives to violence. In this position I answer crisis calls, screen new potential clients, aide with current client needs, and help in exiting leaving clients. I also help with redirecting calls and giving out other pertinent information to callers who need other resources. Once a week, I run an emotional support group for the clients. Part of my job tasks is also conducting funding surveys with previous clients.

During a session I would implement a specific treatment plan set out by my supervisor and work with my client on behavioral needs. A session could range from learning to tie shoes to identifying and expressing emotions.
