Recorded data was analyzed to assess the inherent risk of of this information being publicly available with a $40 device. - DJI Drone Pentest: Determined the scope for the project. Employed Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques (wireshark, nmap, DJI SDK documentation) to conduct reconnaissance and enumerate the drone's operating system, logical processes, network ports, and potential command injection vulnerabilities. Data flow diagrams and threat models were constructed to visualize the system and identify attack vectors. A python script was written to automate a reconnaissance route for the drone, enabling me to analyze how commands/logical processes were executed. After documenting the aforementioned, I successfully exploited vulnerabilities using tools like hping3 for SYN flood attacks, DDoS Ripper, Ettercap for ARP spoofing, and aircrack-ng demonstrating proof of concept for a potential wireless network connection compromise. Based on the findings, mitigation controls aligned with OWASP Top 10 and NIST SP 800-53 were suggested. Show less
