Executive leader of Nationwide’s Public Cloud Transformation program, DevOps Platform, FinOps Operations, and SRE initiatives. Using application migration mechanisms designed by Ryan’s team, including Cloud Migration Parties, Cloud Clinics, and mob programming, Nationwide’s first year of public cloud migrations resulted in over 300 applications starting their journey, 100 applications cutover to Production; plus, another 65 new applications were built on the platform. Momentum continued through the global pandemic and work-from-home orders in 2020, totaling an additional 120 applications migrated; including many mission-critical. In less than 3 years, led Nationwide to build a compliant, developer-friendly, everything-as-code cloud platform and migrated more than 300 Production applications, many of which are core business critical. Saving on average 30% per application migrated, while enjoying better scalability and performance… success was no accident. Credit a custom designed diagnostic checkpoint in the migration process to ensure maximum value for every migration. And, while we've had missteps and pivots, many of the mechanisms, technologies, and processes we’ve created are now enterprise-proven and reusable across other capabilities. Built and brought to market one of the first ever (circa 2008) cloud application marketplace's "theGISmarketplace.com'. Customers could deploy complex multi-tier application architectures from leading solution stacks like Drupal, WordPress, LAMP, Alfresco, Esri, OpenGeo, ERDAS, and more... instantly.We championed the use of cloud technology in the Geospatial (GIS) and Web Mapping industry, where we have enabled large software vendors and system integrators to proactively tie together complex, multi-server, scalable solutions using our cloud platform. This approach enabled our customers to deliver turnkey solutions to their internal staff for project customization and/or directly to their external customers for end-user consumption. In charge of developing the corporate strategy, market positioning, and strategic sales activities for Skygone's portfolio of cloud computing managed and professional services offerings.
