My passion for information technology began when I was ten years old, enchanted by the magical light box in front of me I began my adventure to learn how computers and their related technologies worked. At the time our family computer came with the Microsoft Office suite to which I quickly learned how to build an HTML website using font, hyperlinks, and clipart (of all things!).By the time I was twelve I had started a small flash game arcade that was targeted to my age demographic; I wanted to provide a safe, reliable, and (mostly) ad-free experience so my friends and I could play games together. While building we created a comprehensive design; which allowed me to integrate leaderboards, badges, and a forum. I started building a backlog of games that would be released on schedule using future-dated timestamps and a cron job to release content on a relatively consistent schedule.Halfway through my other project, I started working on Rivr (a social media platform), We built Rivr on-top of a distributed server stack that encompassed a staging environment (using SVN for revision tracking), and a lifecycle engine developed by my colleague Kevin Mark; using his engine we were capable of pushing new versions of our platform live with just a couple clicks of a button. Our platform successfully served markets in Canada, USA, and the UK/EU. In 2014, Kevin and I built WeatherDoge - An open-source weather application for android devices; While the tone of the application is rather comical, we built this with the intention of proving you can build an application that functions using as few API endpoints as possible from the Google Play platform. WeatherDoge is still maintained to this day and has been on over 110,000+ Android Devices around the world.From 2016 onwards, I provided many hands-on hours to Fellowsfilm and helped them build the brand into a successful community that now serves over 100,000+ unique users in a month with more than twenty million requests. Fellowsfilm hosts one of the LARGEST mod communities for OMSI2 and we have had previous sponsorships with Aerosoft and SCS Software.I’m always looking for opportunities to use my skills to engineer highly-available infrastructure; using my various skills in PHP (Laravel), HTML/CSS, Bash, Python, and Javascript; I am a highly motivated self-learner/starter with a T-Shaped skill pattern. I’ve spent an extensive amount of time learning various management skills such as Business Administration, Team Development and Coaching, Staff Retention, Recruitment, Skill Building, and Project Management.
