One day, I'm going to work at HubSpot. And this section will end with "and that's when I finally landed at HubSpot".I began my career with an entry-level position in a field that I didn't understand and quickly learned the struggle of job fulfillment and work-life balance. After a year of inside sales, I realized how much I enjoyed the sales process, but not the “selling”. So, I worked with my leader to put me in a position to tweak how our sales team, and the company as a whole, targeted and enacted a sales strategy.I was committed to staying at my first role for at least 3 years, but during the 2020 COVID-19 crisis, I was furloughed from my job alongside many others. I wasn't sure exactly how to progress my career forward during that time. I did not want to give up on my company, but it appeared they had given up on me. After many weeks, I finally decided to actively look for a new position.Luckily, LeadCoverage was hiring. Seeing this a good sign - hiring during the early pandemic days was rare - I began the application process. With every interview, I was enamored by the service offering and the culture. They were a group of A+ players that believed in a formula for lead generation and it was easy to want to be involved. (S/O to Kara's new book "The Revenue Engine").I worked with that extraordinary team for 5 months, learning much about growth marketing & sales strategy. It was the most difficult, high-intensity job I had encountered, and onboarding remotely made keeping up with their pace very difficult. At the end of my onboarding period, it was clear that we should part ways. I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for the team, and we both wished each other the best of luck.I was introduced to Material Motion through a close friend who worked in a sales position there, mentioning there was an opening. The more I learned about the inner workings of the company, the existing opportunity there, and the culture they had created, the more I knew I wanted to be involved.The first few months were very difficult for me. Not from the work, but my mismanaged expectations. I wasn’t used to being “new” somewhere and having to re-earn that trust I had built up. I made many mistakes, but learned the industry quickly and began to identify ways I could provide my own unique value that aligned with the companies goals, eventually guiding the operational strategy.After 2 years, an opportunity came to me involving another startup and it used HubSpot, so I joined the cove.tool team in 2023.
