Throughout high school, I ran 4 social media platforms called Ag It On to educate the general public about Oklahoma producers and common agriculture misconceptions. Through Ag It On, I developed skills in interviewing, videography and editing. During my undergraduate studies, I realized how many people have no idea where their food comes from or the vast importance of agriculture. Through my experience last year with the Ferguson College of Agriculture, freshman research scholar and the Oklahoma State University Student Farm, I had the opportunity to work with students and Oklahoma producers to grow my agricultural passions and connections.Since working on the OSU Student Farm, a farm that donates all produce to the local food and resource center, I have become passionate about food insecurity within my state, country and world. I have focused on research involving food insecurity the last 3 years and have tried to understand how to improve the process of growing nutritious food for an ever-growing population.
