I actively participated in and collaborated with other instructors in an intensive training program aimed at enhancing endurance, skill sets, and foundational teaching abilities for indoor cycling classes. I curate 2-4 playlists weekly and create choreography that meets studio-specific regulations and standards. I adapt choreography and tempos to accommodate riders of varying ability levels ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. I encourage and support individuals in their personal health and wellness journeys. Additionally, I have mentored new trainees by leading endurance rides as part of their training program.

My student peer and I revamped the Foundational Fitness Program material to enhance its accessibility and user-friendliness. This included developing a comprehensive library of exercise videos for home workouts, along with a detailed introductory guide to the program. To further support participants, we organized a training session specifically for seniors, guiding them through the process of accessing and utilizing the exercise videos from home. This session aimed to ensure ease of use and to address any potential issues or gaps in knowledge, fostering a more inclusive fitness experience.

Worked with adults and older adults with severe mental health disorders and/or concurrent disorders in a locked inpatient unit. Primary interventions included group and individual therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness training, and formal assessment as needed (e.g., interview, cognitive and functional assessment).During my placement, I had the opportunity to shadow multiple units at Brockville General Hospital, each providing unique insights into occupational therapy practice. From Acute Care and Rehabilitation/Integrated Stroke units to Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Palliative/Complex Medical Care, and Emergency Psychiatric Consultations, I gained comprehensive exposure to diverse therapeutic environments. Additionally, I observed various surgeries, including total hip and knee replacements, as well as carpal tunnel release. These multifaceted experiences have significantly enriched my journey toward becoming a skilled occupational therapist.

Worked with students aged 14 to 21 who had intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Supported the children in the special education (school to community) classroom and helped facilitate the transition of attending mainstream classes alongside their neurotypical peers. Designed and delivered meaningful OT programming geared to the students learning style and needs, including printing sessions and zones of regulation.

I collaborated within an interdisciplinary team including OT's, PT's, SLP's, counsellors, school teams, and families to deliver client-centered services for youth aged 3-18. I independently developed and implemented client session plans aligned with OT goals, supporting children with diverse abilities such as ASD, FASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities. Additionally, I provided services in Indigenous rural communities in Northwestern Ontario, fostering culturally sensitive care, while training and supporting other OTAs. I am skilled in building role-specific procedures and contributing to therapy assistant education and development.
