For most of my adolescence I was fascinated with all facets of the medical field, a passion bolstered with my job as a lifeguard during which I had my first experience working with emergency response personnel. I decided long before college that I wished to have a career in the medical field in some capacity, whether that be clinical or research. This led me to pursue a B.S. in Health Studies with a Science emphasis and a Pre-med designation, which was received Cum Laude. I've since returned to school to earn my MPH degree in Community Health Sciences from Tulane University in order to eventually work within the realm of public health and advocacy. My time in higher education has enabled me to develop necessary skills, such as dedication, time management, experience working in a lab and other academic environments, and the ability to multitask with multiple extended projects. Before and during college, I maintained employment in numerous fields that have provided me with the expertise allowing me to be successful in any endeavor I put my energy and focus toward. From my time employed as a Student Manager at the Boise State Bookstore, as a bartender and promoted employee at my first job in the service industry, to the Patient Access Specialist position I held at the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center ED, I am adept in leadership, team-oriented communication, de-escalation, customer service and working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. I have also been trained on computer programs present in various fields, from the service industry to retail and the medical field. Additionally, I have experience working with children, gained through previous employment as an Assistant Preschool Teacher for the Learning Lab in Boise, ID, as a Community Service Worker privately hired to work with a young boy with Autism, ADHD and Epilepsy and as a tutor for various subjects and age ranges. I have been a valued employee at every facility I have had the pleasure of working at and am currently looking for new employment where I can dedicate myself and work surrounded by good people and a positive work environment.
