I am a junior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and I am working toward a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting and a concentration in Finance. One of my biggest strengths is my competitiveness, it pushes me to innovate and look for new ways to improve. I am deliberative in the workplace and therefore put much thought and caution into my decisions so I am less likely to make mistakes. I show this deliberateness through my current position as the finance specialist for my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. I work to provide accurate financial information to our executive board weekly and help prepare a detailed budget regarding future decisions. The Accounting field appealed to me after I was approached by one of my professors early during my sophomore year. He made it clear that I had a “special knack” for the subject, ultimately influencing my decision to switch from a Finance major to an Accounting major. I have thoroughly enjoyed my accounting classes, classmates, and professors and intend to continue my learning to gain my Master's in Accounting and eventually take my CPA exams.
