Rylie Martin Email and Phone Number
My name is Rylie Martin and I am currently a senior at the University of Iowa, Tippie College of Business. I’m pursuing a B.B.A. in Business Analytics & Information Systems and a certificate in Risk Management & Insurance. After my freshman year I was fortunate enough to gain valuable experience as a summer intern at Hawkeye Mutual Insurance Company. Through that experience I have grown a passion for working with statistical data and how it impacts the profitability of a company. I also gained a great appreciation of just how important insurance is to the financial security of our lives. I then completed an internship with Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa the following summer in their Accounting, Reinsurance, and Business Intelligence departments. The opportunity of working in three different divisions gave me a great opportunity to see how all three departments interact with each other. This was a challenging and rewarding experience where I was able to work on real projects with real clients. Overall the sense of community and culture at FMH made it a fun place to work. I recently completed an internship as a Broker Support Services Intern at Guy Carpenter’s London office, where I gained invaluable experience in the reinsurance industry. Shadowing brokers and underwriters at Lloyd’s of London, I observed the intricate processes of policy creation and management firsthand. My responsibilities included preparing detailed slips that outlined the terms and conditions of various reinsurance policies and submitting comprehensive insurance contract records to the central bureau through Xchanging Ins-Sure Services. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of the reinsurance landscape and strengthened my ability to contribute to its operational framework. With these experiences and my education, I’m driven to learn as much as I can about this industry. I thoroughly believe that with every opportunity that presents itself provides a way to learn and become a better version of yourself.
