As an engineering leader at Best Buy, I am currently responsible for many of the retail applications that serve critical roles for our employees working in store and in the field. In this role, I am accountable for our employee facing mobile app engineering strategy that functions to support many use cases from in-aisle sales to product pickup on company-owned and BYOD devices. Additionally, I am focused on leading our selling tools engineering squads that focus on both mobile and web engineering solutions to empower employees to best serve our customers.Across all of these capabilities, I am currently leading a team of over 30 engineers.

As a technical leader at Best Buy, my responsibilities have shifted from project to project over the years. Some of these projects and accomplishments include but are not limited to:- Responsible for leading full-stack development of company employee portal, HR portal, and BYOD employee cross-platform mobile app.- Implemented authorization server for internal web services- Designed data structures and ETLs for iterative business-requested features- Lead technical effort to build and deploy a delayed order fulfillment system (US patent 14/704,776)- Assisted with enterprise-wide IAM design decisions and implementation plansIn addition to my core projects and duties, one of my side responsibilities was to interview, on-board and train Best Buy retail employees interested in pursuing software development. Many of these "retail developers" went on to get full-time jobs working in the software development field at Best Buy and other software companies (Malwarebytes, The Nerdery, C.H. Robinson, Optum).
