About Rynier Van Der Watt

I am currently the Managing Director of Hensoldt South Africa that consists of two businesses, Hensoldt Optronics (Pty) Ltd and GEW (Pty) Ltd. Having been appointed as the Managing Director of both these companies, my responsibility is to lead the integration of these two companies into Hensoldt South Africa and to expand the business of Hensoldt South Africa in line with Hensoldt's overall growth strategy.My previous role was that of Chief Acquisitions and Integrations Officer of Ansys Ltd, responsible for ensuring sustainability of inorganic business growth for Ansys Ltd. Ansys Ltd was renamed to Etion Ltd in June 2018 as part of the re-positioning of the business from an engineering solutions provider that focused on solutions in the Defense, Rail, Telecoms and Mining sectors to a digital solutions provider who focuses on Productivity & Safety solutions, Digital Network solutions and Cyber Security solutions. Part of this re-positioning included the acquisition of LawTrust (Pty) Ltd as the basis for Etion's Cyber Security solutions division which was successfully concluded in July 2018.I joined Ansys Ltd as a result of Ansys Ltd acquiring Parsec Holdings during 2015. I am one of the co-founders of Parsec Holdings, which has grown from an engineering consultancy in the mid-1990s employing 6 engineering consultants to a group that employed over 130 employees in 2015. I have been involved in steering Parsec Holdings through various cycles and phases required to build and grow a business. During 2015 Parsec Holdings was acquired by Ansys Ltd. This was a planned transaction and I played a key role in negotiating and facilitating the transaction. The Ansys Ltd transaction fulfilled one of Parsec Holdings's key strategic objectives of becoming a listed company. As a listed company we felt that we could better leverage our position for enhanced growth through acquisitions in the technology space.
