Japanese Student Union in Arizona is a student group founded by Ryo Kato which serves Japanese students in Phoenix area. We support students to make their study abroad experiences special by organizing networking events and providing volunteering opportunities. We have supported our members organizing a student led cultural event which had over 600 visitors in a day. From 2020, we will collaborate with career agents and start organizing career events for students. Since Japanese students in Arizona lack opportunities and resources for job-hunting comparing to students in other states with big Japanese community or Japan, we will support to fill the gap by providing opportunities.

Mesa, Arizona

Phi Theta Kappa is an internationally recognized honors society for two-year colleges. At the Omicron Beta chapter in Mesa Community College, I was the Public Relations officer which handles on-campus marketing of events and volunteering activities. During two semesters, I created flyers and created statements that were posted on college website and portal.

Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo American Club is an established premier private club based in Minato, Tokyo. In this position, I was responsible for serving diverse members, taking reservations, and help organizing parties. I also ordered types of equipment for the recreation department and took inventory. I was fortunate to work in this high-end environment and learn to be a professional.

Saitama, Japan

As a full-time staff in Gokan, Tokyo based restaurant which operates in 10 different locations, my responsibility was not only cooking and serving food. I was also responsible for managing restaurant operations, negotiating beverage prices and made purchases through restaurant vendors, and managing the restaurant's social media accounts. I contributed to increase the restaurant's monthly sales by up to 25% compared to the previous year.
