Renaissance Man - A person with many talents or areas of knowledge.I have always been very submerged in computers and electronics throughout my life. I attended Devry University for Electronics Engineering and after a couple years was introduced to SQL and VB.net. This struck a chord with me and I wanted to learn as much as possible in Databases and Software Development. I've had quite the journey in my development career starting in the .Net stack using C#, Web Forms and SQL. Utilizing this stack, I created tools that would integrate with third party software providing reporting for our customer contact center for a few years. Eventually I made the switch to Angular as the base for the Frontend paired with NodeJS for backend APIs. This turned out to be the basis for one of my biggest projects to date. I was tasked with creating a Website that allow customer service representatives the ability to assist customers VISA accounts, replacing a licensed third-party solution. In the end it was turned out to be a wildly successfully project and ended up saving the company $50,000 a month in license and data costs. My current employment adventure is with Capital One. I join Capital One and was excited for the opportunity to dive into AWS as my prior experience was with on-prem servers, currently I am working toward my Solution Architect Cert with AWS. The main project my Team and I wrote was a solution that would allow perspective customers to apply in-store for a credit card at Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops and upon approval would manage the embossing of the physical card within 1-2 minutes. We managed this website until I moved to another area helping manage customer applications and I’ve been there since. My main proficiency in Development are with Angular, Node, AWS, Java, and .Net. I’m familiar with a lot of more common technologies as well however, those are the most frequently used. On a plus side, I enjoy learning new technologies and usually pretty excited to dive into the next big tech. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, art, electronics, home automation and I am award winning amateur homebrewer and have spent the last year designing, developing, and building an all-digital computerized brewery.I always find it a pleasure to meeting new people and talking technology. Reach out if you want to talk Tech or Brewing. RySchweit@hotmail.com
