Ryuichi “Ryu” Iwasaki is a registered yoga teacher in Greenwood, Indiana. Born and raised in southern Japan, Ryu has been practicing meditation since he was 6. Ryu witnessed 9/11 live on TV while residing in Tokyo, which made him realize to live his life with full potential and take a leap of faith to move to the United States.Ryu has been studying yoga with Jennifer Keith at Evolutions Yoga since his mid-30s. He was introduced to the method of Ashtanga Yoga with Day Christensen in his late-30s, and it has become his major practice since then. In 2017, after completing a teacher training with Jennifer Keith, he now leads foundation yoga for the community. Deeply rooted in Zen culture, Ryu has a special touch for explaining the theory of yoga from Eastern perspective. His passion as a teacher is to share the brilliance of yoga with anybody who wants to experience the beauty of life. Ryu aims to teach students how to integrate aspects from various yoga styles to best suit an individual’s practice.Ryu has been traveling around the world to gain the wisdom from different cultures and appreciate his life.
