I am a mixed-methods scholar and social scientist exploring the interplay between information consumption, perceptions, and behavioural tendencies, particularly focusing on the dynamics between knowledge and misinformation in the context of public health and emerging technology. My aim is to unravel and understand the intricacies involved in the process, from how we access, select, assess, verify, decide to believe, choose to share, to act on the information.I have taught introductory theories and research methods to undergraduate students, covering topics such as media psychology, misinformation, quantitative analysis, social marketing, PR planning, health promotion, and messaging effects. I see teaching as a mutually enriching journey, where I impart knowledge to students while also learning from their perspectives.Honoured with the 2023 Catherine L. Covert Research Award and the 2024 Syracuse University Graduate Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Work, I have also been invited to present my dissertation project at the 2024 Doctoral Honours Seminars hosted by the National Communication Association. Moreover, having been selected to receive the 2022 Newhouse Research Grant Award, I served as the principal investigator for the award-winning project titled "I’m Asian and also not Asian": Deconstructing the Interplay Between Asian Subgroups’ Health Inequities and the Model Minority Stereotype Created by American Media.
