UofL Health’s nationally renowned physicians care for all ages and stages of life, from pediatrics to geriatrics. With the purchase of KentuckyOne medical group the offices that my team supports has nearly doubled in size since the merger KentuckyOne HealthCare and UofL Health. With this new structure, the organization had decided to implement a new EHR, Epic, into all of the outpatient offices. I accepted the opportunity to transition from the Allscripts team onto the new Epic Ambulatory team where I worked to gain my Epic Ambulatory Certification and was the only member of the former Allscripts team to do so. After receiving my certification I was appointed to Application Security Lead and In Basket Analyst where primary role on the team was template security. During the implementation I had coordinated working sessions with every specialty lead in to make certain that their staff had the appropriate access for the go-live. As the lead security analyst I coordinated efforts with the Compliance office and Physician leadership to determine both legal and organizational standards of workflow and billing aspects of outpatient offices. I also lead the work effort with multiple specialties on their workflows and custom design to fit a multitude of staffing needs, I was also the primary analyst on a number of projects. Most notably the Midmark v10 Implementation which involved coordination between multiple practices, specialties and support teams to implement the functionality to view ECG’s within Epic. With my background in supporting both inpatient and outpatient facilities I have become well rounded professional in the healthcare IT setting but still am eager to learn and grow in a project focused environment.

Our physicians are in every hospital system in the Greater Louisville area and have offices throughout the Kentucky and Indiana area. with 700+ physicians practices in various hospital systems in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area, including University Hospital, Jewish Hospitals, Norton Hospitals, Baptist Hospitals, Norton Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center, Kindred Hospital, Clark Memorial and Floyd Memorial hospitals. As a Clinical Analyst it is my primaryresponsibility to support the outpatient facilities both remote and in person. Members of my team included other Analysts as well as Nursing Informatics and together we support more than 100 office locations throughout the region. During my time I have been involved in several implementations and go-lives that range from large scale EHR upgrades to small third party implementations. The primary EHR I support is Allscripts Touchworks and have been involved in several cumulative upgrades. I am the lead for the Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances program which began using Zentry as the second factor authentication vendor but later transitioned to ID.me to support 2FA. I personally visited or spoke to over 150 providers to support them through the transition process. Another implementation I have been the lead for is the Barcode Reader application which has allowed me to evaluate and standardize the workflow for immunization and medication administration. Other notable implementations I have been involved in Allscripts CU9 and CU10 implementation, Rx Printer Migration, Norton Interfacing project, and Pharmacy Pricing Tool implementation.

Ascension Health Information Services provides clinical information support across the United States. As an Solutions Development Analyst, my primary responsibilities are the maintenance of our Allscripts EHR as well as facilitating any upgrades and enhancements to subsequent applications. This position is on a regional team that supports several hospitals across the Mid-Michigan and Northern Michigan area. Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Saint Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw, Saint Mary’s of Michigan in Standish, and Saint Mary’s of Michigan in Tawas are the hospital systems I support. I also work closely with our counterparts in Indiana and Chicago. I have been involved in many parts of our support model from end user support to major implementations. I work very closely with other analysts as well as our Clinical Informatics team and physicians to validate and approve any changes to the system. I am currently a Primary Support Analyst for Dragon Medical One dictation software as well as Sunrise Mobile MD II and Resolution MD II and am responsible for the support and maintenance of those applications. During my time on the team I piloted a support model called the Customer Service Advocate program that provided direct support for units and offices in the hospital. I was the primary contact person for these units and offices to escalate and IT related concerns. Do to the success that I showed, Leadership decided to move forward with the program. I have been involved in several large implementations. My Virtual Desktop implementation, Dragon Medical One Implementation, Physician Clinical Documentation Go-Live, EPCS Go-Live, SOA Interface Transition, Sunrise 16.3 Go-Live are some of the projects that I have worked directly to support or implement.

Ascension Health Information Services provides clinical information support across the United States. My primary hospital that I supported was Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc MI with a secondary support site, St. Mary’s in Saginaw MI. Ascension is responsible for all technical system for the hospital. I worked with a team to support clinical staff within the hospital in order to keep a safe and efficient environment. My team is called the Genesys Response Team [GRT] whose primary responsibility is on-site support for the hospital. I have a very good working relationship with physicians and clinical staff and have become well versed in clinical workflow. I work very closely with the applications teams who are responsible for routine maintenance, upgrades and enhancements. I have worked with vendors to troubleshoot various issues. I have been involved in the support of EHR downtime, Grace Period Implementation, and Physician Documentation Go-live.
