Régis MATHIEU obtained his PhD thesis on the Oklo uranium deposit (Gabon) in 1999. He joined COGEMA in 2000. He spent 9 years within AREVA NC as project geologist in Mongolia, Niger & overseas.His experience ranges through the spectrum of activities from: Project generation in Australia, Finland, Russia, Gabon, Quebec and Argentina; Research and Development projects, with following several PhD; Grass-roots exploration in Mongolia; Delineation drillings &sampling in Niger (Artois & Afasto deposits), in Canada (Midwest deposits)He was responsible during 3 years of the Analytical Geology studies (petrography-geochemistry) through the technical group of the Exploration Division. From 2004 to 2009, he actively participated to the Uranium Deposits database which has been developed in IAEA Vienna in collaboration with F.J. DAHLKAMP, A. McKAY, A. BOITSOV & D.J. MILLER.From 2009 to end of 2011, he managed all Geosciences activities in Central Africa focusing on the prefeasibility studies of Bakouma deposits. From 2012 to 2016, he was successively in charge of the Exploration Department in the Tortkuduk mine site (2012) and of the Geosciences Direction in KATCO JV (KAZATOMPROM-AREVA Mines JV in Kazakhstan). He worked on the delineation of the South Tortkuduk deposits and registration of corresponding geological reserves. Since April 2017, Mr. MATHIEU is Director of the site of AREVA Mines - Bessines which is now called Orano since January 2018. He recently joined the French Nuclear Energy Society [SFEN] as Vice-President SFEN Nouvelle Aquitaine.
