About Sarah Harris
I have always been interested in bird monitoring and research, along with other taxa, and making monitoring data and research outputs available as widely as possible for use in conservation and to raise public awareness. Professionally, my expertise is in bird monitoring.In my spare time, I have a particular interest in witnessing and recording bird migration, bird ringing, supporting the work of Bird Observatories, 'patch birding' in the Brecks, seawatching, moth recording and travelling both inside and outside of the UK in pursuit of these interests. I also enjoy mountain biking, yoga, gardening and keeping a large freshwater aquarium. Occasionally, I write for BirdWatch magazine.On a voluntary basis, I am the Chair and one of three Directors of Spurn Bird Observatory Ltd (SBOT), Honorary Secretary of the Rye Meads Ringing Group, sit on the SBOT Science and Research Sub-committee, and on the main SBOT Committee, and on the British Birds journal editorial panel.
