If you found this, awesome!My name is Spencer Decker and I'm a Journalism Major at Quinnipiac University. I come from Scranton, PA (home of The Office) where I found my passion for sports. I love pickleball and will play with anyone who wants to. I also run 5 days a week (for the meantime).While in Scranton, I started my journalism career while back at home under the program NEPA Sports Nation. It was a program that helped grow media coverage in the area but also allowed for students grow their coverage as well. I covered major events in the area, specifically high school football, and wrote articles for all of the games that I was at and they can be found in my publications section on LinkedIn. I also attended Holy Cross High School and I covered their basketball team. I would do conjoined articles with my boss because I would always be in attendance. I was the PA announcer for the women's basketball team for a year and I also served as the men's basketball announcer for 2 years. The Men's basketball team is one of the best in the state and recently made their run to the state championship where they lost. Outside of school, I did community service back at home. I was also very active in my church as I served as an altar server for many years along with being a lector. I was an Eagle Scout as well. I did scouting for over 10 years and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when I was 17 where I finished with 100 merit badges. Here at Quinnipiac I am part of Q30 and QBSN. Q30 is the student run TV station on campus. In Q30, I am a producer for Sports Paws (Basically Sports Center) where I make graphics and edit segments that go on the show. I am also a beat reporter the Women's Rugby team. Women's Rugby is one of the most astound teams on campus because they won 3 national championships. I help make content and packages while covering the team. I covered both tennis teams last year in Q30 and the men's tennis team won the MAAC Championship which is the first in history. My article on the team can be found in my featured section. QBSN (Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network) is the broadcast club at Quinnipiac. In the club you are allowed to broadcast games while also do writing, photography, or multimedia. It is a great opportunity to grow your broadcast network. Broadcast reel coming soon...Lastly, I am also a freelance game day producer where I make ESPN+ graphics and use a switcher to go between cameras and adjust the clock accordingly.
