I'm a software engineer since 2013. For most of those 8 years, I worked on rails applications. I believe I know how good application looks and works, and how the team is important. I work remotely since the beginning, i.e. 7 years before the pandemic made it mainstream. I know about the importance of communicating with people, I'm responsible and I try to keep promises. I don't get "sick" 2 days before a deadline and don't ever disappear. I don't burn out because being well-rested is my responsibility. I try to understand problems, not just close tickets. I've got some experience too. Aside from RoR, I learned and forgot react (1.5 years ended 2 years ago), learned vue.js. My code is tested and maintainable, my code reviews are not passive-aggressive. I can do year-long tasks (using feature flags, obviously) and migrate old complex systems. I can introduce new patterns and can resist introducing every new shiny thing I found on the internet.I've contributed to a number of open-source projects, namely cancancan, bullet, rack-mini-profiler, and vcr. I make a PR when I see a bug at work and it happened because the lib/gem doesn't work in our edge case. I had pet projects when I was younger. I don't anymore because of work-life balance.
