As Netexplo focuses on global innovation, I represent Indian innovations. My students at IIM Bangalore typically spot around 50-60 new innovations from the past two years worthy of considering for the annual Grand Prize. We confine our attention to India, and to some extent other Asian innovations.

Provide leadership to one of India's first electronic hardware (ESDM) product incubators (Maker Village™). It is a DeitY-funded project to create electronic entrepreneurs. Supported by the Government of Kerala through KSUM (Kerala Startup Mission). A major differentiator is that in addition to providing facilities for designing circuits from scratch or by using open source boards (eg Arduino, Raspberry Pi), it also has an industrial-strength manufacturing line. In addition it has the services of a number of Subject Matter Experts in electronics to hand-hold entrepreneurs.

The Government of India (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) has created a task force to come up with mechanisms to improve innovation levels and to create metrics for the same in the country. The think-tank consisting of 6 members created India's first National Policy on Intellectual Property Rights which was approved by the Government of India in May 2016.
