Reporting to the Team Manager, the Central Dispatcher is responsible for providing both day-to-day tactical oversight to Communications Operators I and II and for monitoring compliance with established policies, procedures and standards. The incumbent monitors workload, radio talk groups and pendingevents and provides assistance by liaising with field units, call takers, dispatchers and Team Managers toensure efficient operations and service delivery, and identify the need for improved service.

Reporting to an Emergency Communications Centre Manager (ECCM), the Emergency CommunicationsCentre Supervisor (ECCS) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities for a group ofEmergency Communications Centre staff. The position plans, assigns, schedules, supervises andassesses the work performance of employees to ensure compliance with established policies andprocedures. Conducts performance evaluations for staff in the moment, and on an ongoing basis; provides input on work development and training opportunities; monitors staff coverage; and ensures that operational requirements are being met. The position supports the ECCM(s) and floor staff during planned and unplanned evacuations; leads unplanned evacuations; and performs the Incident Commander role as required. The ECCS provides coaching, mentoring and training to new Supervisors and Shift Supervisors.

Reporting to the PSI Manager, an Application Specialist performs a variety of liaison duties with internal and external contacts and provides support in implementing changes in policies, processes and technologies. An Application Specialist maintains operational data, facilitates information exchanges with PRIME-BC and other system users, makes recommendations regarding implementation strategies for new or revised policies, processes or technologies and assists in developing and testing solutions to problems. An Application Specialist is also responsible for assisting in developing and delivering policy, process, and system training.
