Moving from branch to field sales, I joined Burdens Groundcare Sales Team to develop the coverage of the company and its Brand following a major franchise change. A key milestone was turning customer perceptions from negative to positive whilst identifying and selling a lesser known franchise. This was supported by customer and franchise representative feedback.As a result of 3 successful years with the original franchise, extensive manufacture trust and customer rapport, a new franchise opportunity was negotiated following the recognition of my work within my territory. This franchise is pushing Burdens and myself into new realms and continues to do so in a personal and professional capacity.

I joined Peterborough Grass Machinery Ltd as a domestic salesman working directly under the sales director. My role was to engage and close sales with potential customers coming into the showroom. I also engaged with customers to develop relationships and turn them into longstanding and loyal partners.I was successfully promoted to the role of Sales Manager. This included managing the company’s Field Groundcare Representative, along with the replacement for the domestic salesman role. This was fulfilled by a junior member of staff, who came in to the sales department to learn the business. Targeted to modernise and increase sales performance within the domestic sales business, I completely refurbished the showroom and refreshed the company website to increase customer visits and traffic, boosting conversion rates.

I initially joined Serck Services when Intertruck was part of the group, as a Parts Salesman. My starting role was to develop relationships with the maintenance teams of existing customers in the commercial haulage industry. My role was to supply any spares for commercial vehicles the customer required whilst actively promoting additional sales. I also gained skills which included relining brakes and “re-coring” heat exchangers on the vehicles. With my hands-on development training and customer interaction skills, my role changed to a technical field position which led me to work on industrial heat exchangers in the new Serck Services Industrial department. Key achievements include working on a large scale project at a Sizewell power station and building a cooling unit for the Redbull Racing team’s wind tunnel facility.
